A Study on the Effect of Ukulele Music Therapy Education on Job Stress and Psychological Wellbeing of Kindergarten Teachers

Abstract
This study was to see the effect of a music therapy training using ukulele on job stress and psychological wellbeing of kindergarten teachers. This study is significant to suggest data to the field practically and to examine the effect of music therapy training. The subjects for this study were 15 teachers at private kindergarten in G city. This program was conducted 12 sessions in total for 3 months and the effects of therapy were analyzed with matching sample t-test. The results of this study are as follows: First, job stress was meaningfully changed in task-related factors, interpersonal factors and individual-related factors. Second, psychological wellbeing was meaningfully changed in self-acceptance factors, positive personal relations factors, control of environment factors and individual development factors. this study has a significance to deal with psychological part of teachers which is one of the important factors in early childhood education field. The results of this study may indicate that music therapy training is an effective treatment method for kindergarten teachers¡¯ job stress and psychological wellbeing.
